"In the late 80's, in Chicago & New York, a subculture
had evolved from the predominantly Black & Latino underground
dance clubs of the 70's called "House". A new
style of dance followed and has remained true to its roots
ever since. Kazulo preserves this style in its most organic
state and presents it to a brand new audience. DJ
Jus Ed doesn't try to play any other style but his own,
which is "House", and it has filled this exciting new room
with a mix of dancers that are sometimes world-renowned.
Combine that with G'staad's sleek design and hip regular
audience and you have the makings of quite an interesting
party." -DJ
True
"If it ain't broke, don't evolve it" might be the organic
methodology behind the Kazulo crew's productions. Staying
true to the house parties of the late-'80s and early-'90s
that eventually spawned what's now known as "house," Kazulo's
multicultural throw-downs get back to the soul of the music
and the motivations behind making it - read: bringing people
together. As always, live percussionists, and you, should
you wish to bring your own instrument . -(JM)
